What if your brain stops working?

What if our body stops working? We still can learn and think to do something with our life. But what if our brain stops working?

Will we able to think about the motive of our life? Forget about the motive, will be ever able to

THINK again?

No wonders can happen if your brain does not work despite if your body leaves you and brain still holds you, you can do incredible work, example: - Stephen William Hawking

So this proves being physically fit is not enough to lead a satisfactory life but you must be mentally strong and active to have a stable life.

There are ways to activate the brain and recover its efficiency which is losing rapidly.

Why students or youngsters need to take care of their brains?

  • Today not only old age people have
           memory problems but we,
           the young generation too.

  • Youngsters have to make more

           precise decisions.

  • They are more prone to apprehensions

           and depression.

  • Students have rife mental pressure.

Undoubtedly our brain is responsible for everything we do, so it becomes our responsibility to lower down the pressure it has on it.

What is the solution?

MEDITATION is the easiest and healthiest way to enhance its productivity and capabilities.

“Meditation is the requirement of the brain not of age.” So it is discordant saying meditation

is only for old citizens.

What is meditation?

A monk says meditation comes from the very similar root ‘medication’ which means something

which is used to cure the sickness that exists in the body whereas ‘meditation’ is something

which is used to cure the sickness of the mind that is: -

  • States of anger

  • States of stress

  • States of addiction

  • States of worry

In an interview, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar describes meditation as a deep rest, deep relaxation. It is the exercise of the brain to enhance its capabilities He further says meditation is very beneficial for students because students need brainpower, intuition, intelligence, and better memory power. Meditation gives you excellent ideas.

Now the question arises, how does meditation cures or enhances the capabilities of our

mind?

How come just sitting in a comfortable position with back straight and simple breathing

for 20 to 30 minutes do miracle in our brain?

Well, meditation has no magic wand that will just move and do wonders in your brain and you’ll

become the most sophisticated, intellectual person in one day. No pain no gain likewise meditation

demands time, dedication, and punctuality.

Studies show that after 8 weeks of regular meditation program, it was found that grey matter

was denser in the areas associated with learning, memory, and emotion regulation.

Let’s understand our brain and the impact of meditation on them: -

Hippocampus: -

  • creates long term memories from the experience

  • Hippocampus loses 5% efficiency every decade and that is why people have memory

problems as they reach old age.

Cortex: -

  • This is the wrinkly part that helps in reasoning and logical thinking.

  • Also called as grey matter.

Amygdala: -

  • Triggers emotional response (anxiety, aggression, fear, and their intensity)

  • It is the central part of the brain.

  • You get nervous when the amygdala gets bigger.

Scientists say

  • meditation actually strengthens the brain.

  • It enhances the function of the hippocampus and, improves memory processing.

  • It also denser the wrinkly part for more storage of information

  • long term of meditation increases your grey matter.

A survey was conducted in which, when the mind of the monk (a regular meditator) was compared

to new meditator it was found that: -

  • Monk had more empathy

  • It was measured, they had a higher level of ALPHA waves (which is associated with happiness,

           positivity, and spread the love)

While we meditate: -

  • Anxiety level decreases

  • Depression decreases

  • Tolerance increases

  • Memory increases

  • Self- awareness increases

  • Goal settings improves

  • Meditation decreases your high blood pressure.

  • It also enhances your immunity system

  • It also increases the variability of the heart rate which helps the proper and balance

transportation of 02 and CO2 throughout the body.

It is proved that meditation physically helps your brain to perform better.

Meditation is not the ultimate cure of your body problems but it slows down the rate of

problems your body faces in day to day life.

It also changes the way you deal with your problems, your perspective towards life.

Reserving 20 minutes each day for incubation of better mental health is selfless love from you

to your body.
